Inside Intrepid: Ali Rodriguez

Ali currently serves as Executive Vice President.

How did you make it to Intrepid?

When I moved to Canada from Colombia early 2000, I wanted to continue my career in the oilfield thanks to my petroleum engineering degree. I started my directional career working for a major directional company and later on I moved to the US. Through an acquisition, I ended up at Intrepid and I couldn’t be happier.

What do you do here?

I work with a great team of people driven by enthusiasm. In of my role as Executive Vice President, I have heavy involvement in all the Latin American expansion Intrepid has experienced in the last two years. At Intrepid, we’re all heading in one direction with only one goal in mind: “make Intrepid successful while having a lot of fun.”

What are your hopes for your time at intrepid?

I would like to see this company to continue growing in the North American market as well as other markets including Latin America where we are having great success.

How did you get interested in your field of work?

Ever since I was a kid, I wanted to work in the oilfield. While I was in college, I got very excited during my visits to drilling oil rigs, oil & gas production facilities, etc. I was fascinated by it and couldn’t wait to graduate to start working in the field and getting experience. I worked 11 years in the field, and it’s the best thing I ever could have done for my career.

This job has given me the opportunity to travel the World and meet new people. Even in my current position as Executive Vice President, I continue to travel to meet new customers, enter new markets and show the industry the fantastic products and services Intrepid has to offer.

What's your idea of the perfect day?

A perfect day starts with a lot of challenges—which are not uncommon for us in operations, but at the end of the day when I go home to see my family, I have the satisfaction of getting things done to the best of my ability with the support of the great Intrepid team.
